Self-sealing colors are used for colouring minor damages on leather. For larger leather colouring projects, it's recommended to use leather color that is sealed with a leather finish or topcoat, as this enhances the durability of the colouring. These types of leather colors provide a top-coated finish, meaning the color and finish sit on top of the leather's surface.

To completely color leather, grain dye can be used. This alcohol-based leather color penetrates the leather, allowing natural color variations to be preserved. Grain dye is recommended for untreated leather.

For simpler coloring tasks, such as for shoes, we offer a leather color in spray form from Saphir, as well as sneaker dye from Tarrago.

Pigmented leather balm, which is a colored leather balm, is not a pure leather color but is included here because it is used to enhance faded aniline leather. Colored leather balm is available from two different brands: Avel and Furniture Clinic.
